When you visit our Honda dealership here in Hartford, CT, you’ll find a vast selection of efficient new and used vehicles. More drivers are looking for greener cars, and we’re happy to help. Now it looks like there could soon be another option for drivers who want to lower their carbon footprints. A hybrid version of the Honda CR-V is in the works.

Here at Liberty Honda, the 2017 Honda CR-V is one of the most popular vehicles on our lot. It’s no surprise when you factor in everything that this car can do. This crossover offers cargo space, comfortable seating for up to five, and the useful features that you’ve come to expect from a new Honda vehicle. This model can be outfitted with nearly anything that you could think of. Navigation systems, heated seats, rain sensing wipers, a rearview camera, and steering wheel-mounted controls are all available.

Now this impressive model is getting even better with hybrid technology. The Honda CR-V Hybrid was just unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. Details are scarce for now, but we do know that this model will come equipped with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The current model offers a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine. This new engine will work together with two electric motors, but we don’t know just how much power this vehicle can produce yet. The Honda CR-V Hybrid will be built on the same powertrain as the Honda Accord Hybrid and should offer similar fuel economy numbers. We can’t wait to learn more when this model is formally announced for the United States market.
